Ukraine: Verkhovna Rada passed the draft law on imposition of the land market in the first reading

On November 13, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the first reading the government / alternative draft law #2178-10 "On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine regarding agricultural land circulation", which imposes the land market in Ukraine since 2020.

240 people's deputies voted for adoption of the reporting document, in terms of the necessary number of 226.

As a reminder, on September 25 the Cabinet of Ministers approved the first draft law on opening of the land market, and applied it to the Verkhovna Rada. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy charged the Cabinet of Ministers to work out a draft law on the turnover of agricultural land until October 1, and the Verkhovna Rada — to cancel the land moratorium until December 1, 2019.
