Ukraine to discuss the sale of land to foreigners by referendum — Prime Minister

First of all, the land market should be open for Ukrainians, and the issue of selling the land to foreigners should be resolved by referendum, reported the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmygal, on March 5.

D.Shmygal added that he is the follower of the trend that the land market should be opened primarily for Ukrainians. There should be the civilized land market that would give a boost to farming and economic development in Ukraine. The issue of possible selling of the land to foreigners or foreign companies should be discussed by the national referendum only.

Also, he noted that after opening of the land market, Ukrainians should have the right to sell their land, owned as private property, at the market price.
