The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation started preparing the draft decree on imposition of some temporary limitations of the exports of grain crops to the countries that are not member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The project design passport was posted at the Federal portal of projects of regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation, on January 13.
The project passport explained that the temporary limitations are aimed at ensuring of the food security of the country. Other details were not specified. The authorities plan to accept any proposals on the draft decree until January 27, 2020.
As a reminder, previously the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Patrushev, said that the Ministry plans to consider the further imposition of various mechanisms to limit grain exports from Russia, but only in terms of the urgent need.
The recent forecast of the Ministry for grain exports from Russia in the current season totals 45 mln tonnes, including 36 mln tonnes of wheat.
