In January-September of 2019, Ukraine exported oilseeds at the sum of 1.649 bln UAH, an increase of almost one quarter (up 23.2%) compared with the same period last year. At the same time, the share of the EU countries in the export structure of Ukrainian oilseeds reached 63.9%, declared the Deputy Director at the National scientific center “Institute of Agrarian Economics”, Academician of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (NAAS), Nikolai Pugachev on November 6.
According to him, for 9 months of 2019 rapeseed took the leading position by the export volumes of the reporting goods. Thus, Ukraine shipped 2.3 mln tonnes of the oilseed to the EU at 911 mln USD. Also, the exports of sunflower seed reached 71 thsd tonnes at 29 mln USD, and soybeans — more than 2.1 mln tonnes at 683 mln USD.
In addition, in January-September Ukraine exported fats and oils at 3.331 bln USD, up 3.9% compared with the last year figures in the same period.
Traditionally, India became the major importer of Ukrainian fats and oils. Since 2015, the country continues actively increasing the purchasing volumes of Ukrainian sunflower oil. For 9 months of 2019, the share of the country in the structure of Ukrainian exports of the product totaled 31.3%.
