Russia: no reasons to reduce the forecast of grain harvest — Ministry of Agriculture

Despite the difficult weather conditions, observed in some regions of Russia, the Ministry of Agriculture did not see any reasons to adjust the current forecast of the general grain harvest in 2019, which varies at the level of 118 mln tonnes, including 75 mln tonnes of wheat, declared the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Jambulat Khatuov on September 4.

According to him, in terms of the certain difficulties of weather conditions, agrarians of the country are fighting for the harvest in the literal sense of the word. Despite the weather troubles in several regions, including the emergency situations, experts of the Ministry of Agriculture kept the previously formed forecast of the general grain production unchanged. Also, the First Deputy Minister said that the export market of grains demonstrates the stable situation.

J.Khatuov recalled that in 2019, 15 regions of Russia faced various types of emergencies. These were frosts, droughts, floods, etc. In the current year, the general sum of damages to agrarians already reached 9.5 bln RUR.
