On January 15, the Russian Government resigned




The entire Government of the Russian Federation resigned, after the recent annual state of the nation address to lawmakers by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, announced the Prime Minister of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, on January 15.

In turn, the Head of State accepted the resignation and instructed members of the Cabinet of Ministers to fulfill their duties until formation of a new government.

Shortly afterwards, V.Putin proposed to the Head of the Federal Tax Service, Mikhail Mishustin, to replace D.Medvedev as the Prime Minister. His candidacy for the post was sent to the State Duma for approval.
