Taking into account the fact that in the current year Ukraine already produced 98.5 mln tonnes of grains and oilseeds, the Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA) forecasted that by 2026 the figures can reach nearly 113 mln tonnes, declared the President of the UGA, Mykola Gorbachev, on December 6.
To date, the country exports much more grains compared with the domestically consumed volumes. The market can process all grain surpluses that Ukraine is able to produce. If five years ago the average five-year exports of Ukraine totaled nearly 30 mln tonnes, then to date the country already reached the milestone of 50 mln tonnes. The global market demonstrates good demand for Ukrainian grain, and it will continue rising. The growth of the global population is the most important factor, M.Gorbachev said.
Also, he considered that the growth of the population by 2 bln people in the following 20-25 years will require additional 20-25% of agricultural products, which will be grown in the favourable climatic conditions. At the same time, the conditions in Ukraine are fully suitable for agricultural production.
