Russia: Ministry of Agriculture adjusted the forecast of grain harvest




The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation adjusted the forecast of grains harvest taking to account updated regional data, informed the press-service on December 6.

“We estimate total grains crop to reach 121 mln tonnes this year, up 7% from the previous season. This is the second largest crop obtained over post-USSR period despite unfavorable weather in several regions”, – stated the Minister of agriculture Dmitry Patrushev.

Currently, harvesting campaign is approaching to its end in Russia. About 5% of planted area of corn for grain is still to be harvested in North Caucasian, Volga and Far Eastern Federal Districts.
