In 2019, Ukraine already harvested over 70 mln tonnes of grains




As of November 12, all categories of agricultural households in Ukraine already harvested 70.8 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 14.6 mln ha, or 96% of the forecast, with the average yield of 4.84 t/ha. The reporting figures already exceeded the results of the grain harvest in 2018, when the harvest totaled 70.1 mln tonnes, reported the information and analytical web-portal of the Ukrainian agro-industrial complex.

In particular, Ukraine harvested 28.1 mln tonnes of wheat, 30.8 mln tonnes of corn for grain, 8.9 mln tonnes of barley, 333 thsd tonnes of rye, 444 thsd tonnes of oats, 572 thsd tonnes of peas, 89 thsd tonnes of buckwheat, and 159 thsd tonnes of millet.

In addition, Vinnytsia (5.8 mln tonnes), Poltava (5.4 mln tonnes), Cherkasy (4.4 mln tonnes), and Kharkiv oblasts (4.3 mln tonnes) produced the largest volumes of grain crops.

In addition, Ukraine planted winter grains for the harvest-2020 throughout the areas of 6.9 mln ha, or 95% of the forecast, including winter wheat — 5.9 mln ha, or 95% of the forecast, winter rye — 121 thsd ha, or 99%, and winter barley — 906 thsd ha, or 99%.

In addition, Ukrainian agrarians planted winter rapeseed throughout 1.1 mln ha, or 101% of the plan.
