As of November 11, 2019, Russian agrarians harvested the record volumes of the major oilseeds in the bunker weight — 21.2 mln tonnes, an increase of almost 20% compared with the same period last year (17.7 mln tonnes), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
In particular, the harvest of sunflower seed totaled 14.6 mln tonnes, with the yield of 1.84 t/ha, soybeans — 4.35 mln tonnes, with the yield of 1.64 t/ha, and rapeseed — 2.2 mln tonnes, with the yield of 1.57 t/ha.
Also, in 2019 the planted areas under oilseeds increased to 14.5 mln ha, against 13.9 mln ha last year.
The Ministry of Agriculture forecasted that by 2024, the general harvest of oilseeds in the country will increase to 29.3 mln tonnes. In particular, sunflower seed volumes will total 16.5 mln tonnes, rapeseed — 3.9 mln tonnes, and soybeans — 7.3 mln tonnes.
