In 2019, Ukraine harvested over 66 mln tonnes of grains




As of November 1, all categories of agricultural households in Ukraine already harvested 66.7 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 14.1 mln ha, or 92% of the forecast. The average yield totaled 4.72 t/ha, reported the information and analytical web-portal of the Ukrainian agro-industrial complex.

In particular, Ukraine harvested 26.7 mln tonnes of corn throughout 3.9 mln ha (78%), with the average yield of 6.86 t/ha; 87 thsd tonnes of buckwheat throughout 66 thsd ha (97%), with the yield of 1.32 t/ha; and 155 thsd tonnes of millet throughout 83 thsd ha (87%), with the yield of 1.86 t/ha.

Also, agrarians harvested 14 mln tonnes of sunflower seed throughout the areas of 5.7 mln ha (98%), with the yield of 2.44 t/ha. At the same time, the production of soybeans reached 3.6 mln tonnes, with the areas of 1.58 mln ha (97%), and the yield of 2.32 t/ha.

As of the reporting date, Ukraine continued harvesting sugar beet, which areas already totaled 178 thsd ha, or 81% of the forecast. The production volumes reached 7.8 mln tonnes, with the yield of 43.8 t/ha.

In addition, Ukraine planted winter grains throughout the areas of 6.8 mln ha, or 94% of the forecast. In particular, the areas under winter wheat totaled 5.8 mln ha (94% of the forecast), winter rye — 120 thsd ha (99%), and winter barley — 890 thsd ha (97%).

In addition, Ukrainian agrarians planted winter rapeseed throughout 1.1 mln ha, or 100% of the plan.
