Ukraine harvested 62 mln tonnes of grains — Ministry of Economic Development




As of October 24, all categories of agricultural households in Ukraine already harvested 62 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 13.5 mln ha, or 88% of the forecast. The average yield totaled 4.5 t/ha, declared the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.

In particular, Ukraine harvested 21.9 mln tonnes of corn throughout 3.2 mln ha (66%), with the average yield of 6.73 t/ha; 86 thsd tonnes of buckwheat throughout 65 thsd ha (95%), with the yield of 1.33 t/ha; and 152 thsd tonnes of millet throughout 81 thsd ha (90%), with the yield of 1.87 t/ha.

Also, agrarians harvested 13.5 mln tonnes of sunflower seed throughout the areas of 5.6 mln ha (95%), with the yield of 2.43 t/ha. At the same time, the production of soybeans reached 3.4 mln tonnes, with the areas of 1.5 mln ha (94%), and the yield of 2.32 t/ha.

As of the reporting date, Ukraine continued harvesting sugar beet, which areas already totaled 149 thsd ha, or 68% of the forecast. The production volumes reached 6.5 mln tonnes, with the yield of 43.8 t/ha.

In addition, Ukraine planted winter grains throughout the areas of 6.6 mln ha, or 91% of the forecast. In particular, the areas under winter wheat totaled 5.7 mln ha (91% of the forecast), winter rye — 117 thsd ha (96%), and winter barley — 834 thsd ha (91%).

Also, Ukrainian agrarians planted winter rapeseed throughout 1.1 mln ha, or 99% of the plan.
