Rusagrotrans increased its forecast of grain harvest in Russia




The analytical center of Rusagrotrans JSC increased its forecast of the general grain harvest in Russia in 2019 to 121.1 mln tonnes, an increase of 1.4 mln tonnes compared with the previous estimations of the experts, declared the Head of the analytical center of Rusagrotrans JSC, Igor Pavensky on October 17.

According to the analyst, the growth of the forecast of corn production to 13.8 mln tonnes, as opposed to 12.6 mln tonnes of the previous forecast, became the main reason for updating of the harvest estimations.

In the Central and Volga Federal Districts, there were fixed the record yield figures of the grain, with the larger planted areas, compared with last year. Also, the average yield in the Southern District significantly increased during the harvesting campaign works, I.Pavensky explained.

At the same time, the forecast of barley production somewhat increased to 20.4 mln tonnes, up 0.2 mln tonnes. The forecast of wheat harvest remained unchanged — 75.4 mln tonnes.
