Ukraine harvested over 45 mln tonnes of grains — Ministry of Agrarian Policy




As of September 26, all categories of agricultural households in Ukraine already harvested 45.1 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 11.1 mln ha, or 72% of the forecast. The average yield totaled 4.08 t/ha, declared the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

In particular, agrarians harvested 5.4 mln tonnes of corn throughout 899 thsd ha (18%), with the yield of 5.98 t/ha; 72 thsd tonnes of buckwheat throughout 54 thsd ha (80%), with the yield of 1.32 t/ha; and 138 thsd tonnes of millet throughout 74 thsd ha (82%), with the yield of 1.87 t/ha.

Also, agrarians harvested 9.6 mln tonnes of sunflower seed throughout the areas of 4.2 mln ha (71%), with the yield of 2.3 t/ha. At the same time, the production of soybeans reached 2 mln tonnes, with the yield of 2.34 t/ha, and the areas of 867 thsd ha (55%).

As of the reporting date, Ukraine started harvesting sugar beet, which areas already totaled 36 thsd ha or 17% of the forecast. The production volumes reached 1.6 mln tonnes, with the yield of 44.5 t/ha.

In addition, Ukraine planted winter grains throughout the areas of 2.9 mln ha, or 39% of the forecast. In particular, the areas under winter wheat totaled 2.6 mln ha (42% of the forecast), winter rye — 69 thsd ha (56%), and winter barley — 147 thsd ha (16%).
