Russia exported over 31 mln tonnes of grains — Center of Agricultural Analytics




In the period of March 13-19, the exports of Russian grains totaled 731.9 thsd tonnes, an increase of 14.9% compared with the previous week, and up 16.4% compared with the average weekly results for the recent month (4 weeks), declared the Federal State-Funded Institution "Center of Agricultural Analytics" under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, on March 24.

In particular, in the reporting period wheat volumes totaled 538.4 thsd tonnes, up 0.9% compared with the previous week. At the same time, the shipments of corn totaled 91.8 thsd tonnes (up 0.6%), and barley — 89.5 thsd tonnes (up 19.2 times). In the reporting week, Turkey (281.6 thsd tonnes), Egypt (183.7 thsd tonnes), Saudi Arabia (62.9 thsd tonnes), Vietnam (50.4 thsd tonnes), and Sudan (47.2 thsd tonnes) were the main export destinations of Russian grains.

Generally, since the beginning of 2019/20 MY (July 1), and as of March 19, Russia already exported 31.9 mln tonnes of grains, including 26.2 mln tonnes of wheat (down 13.7% compared with the same period last season), 3 mln tonnes of barley (down 21.1%), 2.4 mln tonnes of corn (up 18%), and 0.2 mln tonnes of other grains (down 54%).
