Russia exported over 20 mln tonnes of grains and oilseeds — Centre for Grain Quality Assurance




According to regional divisions of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), since the beginning of the season-2019/20 (July 1), and as of October 29, Russia already exported 15.7 mln tonnes of wheat (including movements to the territory of the Customs Union countries), down 12% compared with the same period last season, reported the Federal State-Funded Institution "Federal Centre of Quality and Safety Assurance for Grain and Grain products" on November 1.

Also, in the reporting period Russia exported 1.6 mln tonnes of barley (down 25% compared with the same period in 2018/19 MY), 241 thsd tonnes of peas (down 22%), 123 thsd tonnes of chickpeas (up 3 times), and 195 thsd tonnes of wheat bran (down 6%).

In addition, Russia demonstrated the high shipment rates of oilseeds and its by-products. Thus, since the beginning of the season the exports of soybeans almost doubled — to 343 thsd tonnes, flaxseed — up 41%, to 166 thsd tonnes, and sunflower meal — up 80%, to 329 thsd tonnes. At the same time, the exports of rapeseed decreased by 23% compared with the last year level — to 147 thsd tonnes.

Generally, in the reporting period Russia supplied 20.4 mln tonnes of grains, oilseeds and its by-products on foreign markets, down 9% (or 2.1 mln tonnes) compared with the same period last season.

Russia shipped the reporting goods to 123 countries, as opposed to 128 countries as of October 29, 2018.
